In recognition of Rochester, NY's Lilac Festival, three lilac-colored flowers are aligned. We throw the word "hope" around a lot in the nonprofit sector. It shows up in mission statements, in grant narratives, in the remarks we make at galas when we want the room to feel something. And that's not wrong. But somewhere along the way, hope got demoted.
